Rocketdog Bassets |
Our Upcoming Litter:
Our upcoming litter will be the second pairing of our Dulce DeLeche (AKC) and Rocketdog Rockford Rhoades (AKC) and we are expecting arrival near February 3rd, 2025 for delivery to families in early April.
Deciding on which puppy you wish to take home can happen any time after they are whelped, but we hope you wait a few weeks before making this important choice. Until the babies come we take no reservations. Before choosing a puppy, or paying any money to anyone, come and visit our farm if you are able. We can do remote video meetings as needed.
We will provide small evaluations of each pup as we go along, weights and pictures will be plentiful and usually found on our Rocketdog Bassets Facebook Group first. We do a full evaluation of each puppy at six weeks.
The earliest opportunity to pick up your puppy is at eight weeks of age (around April 4th), but we are pretty flexible on the delivery date after that and can go a bit longer as needed. There will be one puppy from each litter which will be kept with us until at least ten weeks. We do this for the Mother's mental health and well being. It is not unusual for us to keep puppies until twelve weeks when requested. This offers the best outcomes for the puppy since it learns a great deal about being a Basset Hound early in pack life.

This litter will be priced at $1500.00 each. There is a $200.00 discount per puppy if two same sex pups are taken together. (IMHO two Bassets are half the work of one.) The deposit for reserving a puppy will be $300.00 for each puppy chosen and the deposit will apply to the total due at delivery.
Included with the puppy are American Kennel Club Registration paperwork, medical records, vaccination certificate, and our signed Contract. We often offer American Kennel Club Breeding rights for an additional fee when a puppy meets the criteria of our Six Week Evaluation and is likely a good example of the breed. Not all pups will be eligible for breeding rights and those not purchasing breeding rights will be contractually obligated to have their puppy spayed or neuterehave a wonderful ground transport person for everyone needing deliveries outside of the Portland Area.
For very good reasons deposits are not refundable. Care ought to be taken before making a final decision and putting down a deposit. The balance of the Contract will be due and payable upon delivery of your puppy into your hands. We do all of our business through Square.com, but cash is acceptable too. The deposit invoice from Square.com is secure, quick, and acts as a preliminary Contract between parties.
Our kennel is committed to finding people well suited to Basset Hound ownership and care. Interested people ought to visit our Farm and meet our hounds before deciding to put a deposit on a puppy..
