Candies in the Mud
Today didn't translate to video at all. This morning we had to call everyone into the house and the last of the hounds that answered the call were the Candies. They had been out to the well house and had rolled themselves in the mud. They were a real mess and we figured we'd spend the rest of the morning bathing babies. But a quick toweling and a few minutes later they were clean and fresh once more.
We get this same sort of thing when we have out Spa Days and everyone gets a bath. They run off and drop into whatever filth they can find, but by the time they are dry the dirt has all found a way out.

Three With Their New Families

Adios Puddles
Every litter has one puppy in it that I would keep if I could. I don't even try to pretend that Puddles wasn't my favorite this time. We go way back . . ..
When we were still Whelping babies eight short weeks ago we figured we were done at one point and Ann took off for the showers while I kept watch. About ten minutes later I heard Lilly stirring in the whelping pen and found her just finishing up birthing a suprize bonus baby. This was Milka, now Puddles.
Puddles went to her new family today. She will be missed. But the new parents have another little girl Basset at home and promises to bring them around for vacations and visits. It will be good to see him grow up.
