We're Getting Pretty Close

Laffee Taffee's temperature came down today. Dogs usually run just above one hundred degrees but this gets depressed as a female nears whelping. Taffee was at ninety-eight degrees this morning. Of course there is no guarantee that pups will show up at any point, but this temperature drop is what we are looking for and we are ready get this thing started.

We have been building the new Farmhouse for a little over a year now and it has come to the point where we can begin using some of the rooms. So we moved the washer and drier out of the tiny home and this opened up plenty of room for a litter of pups. After the new house is finished, and we are moved in, this room will become part of the new Kennel where grooming and whelping will happen routinely.

This is the same room we used with Taffee's last litter and had built a back porch onto the place to get some space. But the back porch really wasn't much help, so keeping them all in the one room will work better all the way around.  We padded the floor and put a new blue tarp down to help keep things a bit cleaner. A warm and clean place is really all we need right now.

We are ready.

March 7th, 2020 Good News!

Grizelda LaffeeTaffee (AKC) and ClarkeBar Grizwold (AKC) are please to announce the impending arrival of six to eight pups on or about April 1st. This was not a part of our kennel plan but we are happy to see it none-the-less. These two put out the best litter we have seen in the past and we are planning on keeping a male to strengthen our kennel. These pups will eventually be on offer for $1500.00 each. A non-refundable $500.00 reservation deposit, along with a digitally or actually signed contract, is required of anyone wanting to take a pup from this litter. We don't take deposits until the pups arrive, so there is time to plan and consider before taking this first step.

The Reservation is not for any particular puppy, but for a place in the order of choosing. Choosing a puppy happens after our Six Week Evaluations are put online. There will be ample pictures to look over as the puppies grow and we keep pretty good track of the babies as they grow to six weeks, so there will be enough information to make a choice at the six week point. We allow people to visit the pups after four weeks as well as allowing people to visit our farm prior to whelping. We expect delivery of this litter to their new homes starting in late May, but can keep them with us longer as needed. At deliver any contract balance is due.

We offer AKC Breeding rights for our pups for $300.00, in addition to the puppy price. We also offer delivery, for a fee, outside of the Portland Metro Area as well as air freight delivery outside of our personal delivery area arranged as needed. Lastly, should anyone wish two pups (of the same sex) there will be a $200.00 discount on each puppy. It is just better to have two, they will simply do much better, be happier, and give you a whole lot more fun. Since we will be having two litters Spring, this discount can be spread between both as required.

There is no hurry at this point, and no expense. We will begin taking reservations the day the pups arrive and only make reservations for the number of pups we hope to make available. I will be choosing one male to keep in our family and so the first choice will be mine.

As planned, we will still be breeding The Cinnamon Bear in April. So there will be two litters in Spring and early Summer. The Cinnamon Bear and ClarkeBar have given us two litters of very good pet quality puppies and this litter will be priced at $1200.00 each. The same deposit and contract will be required, and additional fees and discounts made available. We don't have dates for this pairing yet, but we will send another email when we have this information.

So, for now, make your plans and ask your questions. Come visit us if you wish and we will be glad to have you. Call Ann at 503-351-0212 whenever you wish.

Our Wait List is (still) Open

March 8, 2021 We are fairly certain that Taffee will be having puppies in early April. This is a bit ahead of schedule, but we are happy to see it. People who have joined the Wait List will have the first opportunity to make a Reservation once the pups arrive, so it is still a good idea to get on the list. As of today there are seventeen people on the list and about eight pups expected. We will be breeding the Cinnamon Bear around April, so there are plenty of puppies expected this Spring. More news to follow.

Update Feb 26th, 2021: We are thinking that our Laffee Taffee might be pregnant. She is sneaky and shows little interest in ClarkeBar, and he for her, But we thought it was possible that she and ClarkeBar had got together a few weeks back. This, and the last, litter from Taffee have been surprise pregnancies. I'll notify the Wait List if we find that she is actually pregnant. The timing would be: whelping in Early April for delivery to new parents in early June. Taffee's first litter was exceptionally good. Scroll down the page to see them. We will still be breeding The Cinnamon Bear in April since she is scheduled for retirement this year and we can no longer wait. There is a great deal of work to do to be ready. We are finishing the interior of the new house to be ready for this, but we might just have puppies for everyone!

We have decided to resume our breeding schedule in anticipation of opening our new kennel in the late Spring of 2021.

We are planning for pairing The Cinnamon Bear (AKC) and Clarke Bar Griswold (AKC) and expect mating in April.  This is a proven pairing with two successful litters of very good quality pups which will go for $1200 (U.S) each. Click on these links to see something of their previous litters: Litter One 2016  - Litter Two 2017. There is more information in postings made before and after these two. This pairing is on the schedule first because The Cinnamon Bear is at the end of her career in our kennel.

The Wait List requires only that you fill out the form to the left of this announcement and hit the send button. There are no deposits required to join and no contract is being made by joining. Those on The Wait List will be notified as soon as we have happy news and nothing else will be done with the information you give us. Once the upcoming litter is brought into the world we will contact those interested in acquiring a puppy to discuss next steps.

You may review our Sales Contract before deciding to join The Wait List
by clicking here. If you wish to know more about our process for finding puppy parents then click here. We do things a bit differently than most other kennels, so it is good to know how things work before getting involved.

We anticipate delivery to families in or around late June to mid-July. Of course none of this is certain as we do all of this naturally,  But once these two get "that look in their eyes", things seem to take shape pretty well.

We look forward to hearing from you.
