Rocketdog Bassets: Rocketdog Winter Coats

After buying and trying many different store bought coats for our hounds, we found that the stuff at the store was a bit too expensive, and bit too hard to use, and really a lot too difficult to keep clean in in good repair. . .

We spent quite a bit of time figuring out making coats of our own. Four years of trying different things the result is to be found on this page. We are offering a relatively inexpensive, durable, easy to clean and wear, dog coat. Our Creekside Farm was always going to be about produce and projects. So we decided to make these available to the people who had adopted one of our puppies and the project sort of grew larger from there.

The coats we offer come Ready to Wear or in a Do It Yourself kit.

The Ready to Wear coat is just that, Ready to wear right out of the box.

The Standard sizes of our Ready to Wear Coats are $49.00 plus $6.00 shipping.

The Do it Yourself Kit comes with everything you need to sew your dog a coat: if you have intermediate sewing skills; a sewing machine; and some thread (we suggest black thread). The materials come pre-cut and can be customized any way you wish.

The DIY Kits in Standard sizes are $29.00 plus $6.00 shipping.

We offer these Coats and Kits in our standard sizes. These are the sizes we find works for our hounds at every stage of their lives. But because not everyone have a Basset Hound (yet) we also offer to custom make a Coat or Kit to fit other breeds. Some custom sizes will cost a bit more simply because there is a lot more material needed to make the coat. Either the Ready to Wear or Do it Yourself coats can be ordered from the links below.
