Measuring Your Dog for Size

We make four standard sizes of our Ready to Wear Rocketdog Winter Coat and our DIY Rocketdog Winter Coat Kits. There are six sizes to fit most breeds.  Measure your dog at these three points and check your measurements against our size chart to find whether your dog will fit a Ready to Wear size first, but we can make a Coat or Kit to fit your dog's measurements.

We use three measurements to make our patterns. 

• The Back is the distance from the base of the neck to the top of the tail.
• Neck size is the distance around the neck, measured at the base of the neck where the Back begins and around the neck to the top of the Sternum. A loose loop which hits these two points ought to give you the measurement you need. 
• The Chest of the dog is the distance around the middle, just behind the forelegs. This is usually the thickest part of the dog, but you can choose another place to measure if you think it more reflective of the size of your dog.
