May 19th, Little Lilly Takes Her Turn

We have been waiting patiently for two seasons, without success, to get Rocky and Lilly together. Breeding and whelping naturally is the way we do things. We don't force anything and we don't do artificial anything, so the whole thing is a bit messy and hard to schedule. But our dogs are healthier for it.

Today we caught Lily and Rocky locked in an embrace. Lily wasn't happy about it at all, but it happened.  There will doubtless be more of  these two getting together, but we have a good idea that things are going to work. So we are expecting, providing that Lily takes, around July 21st.  (Update Wednesday the  22nd: They have had a five rounds at least. The pairing usually takes a few goes to have a full pregnancy. Eight pups is often the outcome, but Lilly isn't proven yet and we have no idea the numbers she will throw.) Because of the full pairing we are opening the Wait List.

Please read up on how we do things before making any decisions.  (The link is to the left)  We are careful about how and who we do the business with, so the more you know . . .

For those of you who have come here for the news, there's an email widget on the side of this posting for you to join the Wait List. Also, there's some information pages so that you can get an idea of how we do things.  If you join the Wait List I will send you specific information about where we are and what to expect. This whole thing is text driven so if you have questions you can call Ann at 503-351-0212 to get questions answered if you don't want to use text.

This will be Lily's first litter and Rocky's third. We are expecting something wonderful out of Lily. She's small, healthy, long eared, and a wonderful example of the breed. Once we know for sure we will announce this to the public.  More to follow. . .

Watch out for Scammers!

People have spent years figuring out how to impersonate legitimate business and will use the information against you. We try to protect those interested in our puppies, but can only go so far . . .  You are welcome to come visit our farm and our hounds and even encouraged to come visit before making any money decisions. We only offer puppies we have and then take deposits once our pups arrive. Beware.

Are you a Rocketdog Owner?

Do you have one of our puppies and don't even know it?

We might help you find out about your puppy's background. . . .

These wonderful people help to find homes for many of our puppies.

First things first: We have had just three litters of puppies. All are sired by Clarke Bar Griswold. If you have the AKC paperwork we sent with the puppies and the sire is our Clark, the you have a Rocketdog Basset Hound (you lucky people).

If you did not receive the AKC paperwork: Then your best bet is to try and find out if your puppy has the same markings as the wonderful Basset Babies we sold. Look at the back of the dog and see if the patterns match any of the following puppies. The colors might have changed.

If you think you have one of our babies, get in touch.

Have you seen any of these?

Clarke Bar Griswald and Carmel Corn SanDiego had six, four of which went to the Critter Cabana.

This puppy was once called Junior Mint. She is now called Barbie 2.

His new family is known to us, so this is not your puppy.

This puppy was called Milk Dud. He is now called Gus.

His family is known to us as well.

This beautiful puppy was called Scotch Mallow.

Her family name is Clover and she takes care of a special needs family.

This little girl was called Skittles.
We have lost track of her.

This beautiful little girl was once my favorite. Her name was Sugar Baby and we miss her awfully.

Tootsie Roll was a very good girl. Do you have her?

Clarke Bar and the Cinnamon Bear had nine, all of which went to the Critter Cabana. We hope to see them again.
