Bismarck at Two Days

Bismarck arrived without any warning at all. Luckily for us, Laffee Taffee was as good at getting them out as we thought we were. She had him mostly cleaned up, but when we do it we use towels and so the fur is a bit less nasty. At birth he weighed 11.3 ounces; nice, but a bit small. Today he's down an ounce to 10.5. He has wonderful coloring with great symmetry.

Jelly at Two Days

Jelly was the last one, untile the last one came along. At 13 ounces she was a pretty big little girl soaking wet. Now, at 12.4 ounces she is still a good sized girl.

Éclair at Two Days

Éclair is favorite little girl. So little and pretty. She too has lost a bit of weight. Down to 11.5 ounces from a wet 11.3 ounces. At these weights the wet fur at birth must have added a few.

Long John at Two Days

Long John is very well colored. He's a pretty boy who has been taking food from all the others. He started out at 12.9 ounces and now he's a tubby 14.4.

Sugar at Two Days

Sugar was a refusenik. She wasn't too happy about being born at all but really she had little choice. She weighed 12 ounces on day one, on day two she is down a bit to 11 ounces. We are not worried about the weight, but we'll keep an eye on her anyway. Lovely coloring this one.

Sprinkles at Two Days

Sprinkles is the cutest little girl, She is doing very well but has lost half an ounce in these few days. She is still quite healthy at 10.9 ounces. She is so active that her weight might not have come out right. We're not worried, but we will be making sure she gets fed more often.

Fritter at Two Days

Fritter was a screamer when he came into the world. He also only weighed 12.7 ounces. He still is the loudest complainer, but put on a few since then. The squeaky wheel gets the grease I suppose because he now weighs in at 13.6 ounces.

Dunkin at Two Days

Duncan started his life a hungry boy. He was big, weighing 13.8 ounces, at birth and put on a few since then. He now weighs 14.1 ounces. We call that thriving.

March 29th, 2021 Bismark Came Unexpectedly

We thought it was all over. Ann checked Taffee pretty well and we called it eight pups and nearly went to bed. Ann gave a quick look in on them all and saw Taffee cleaning up another puppy, then we had Bismark. He is a nice looking little boy who came to us weighing 11.3 ounces.

And then we tried to sleep . . .

A bit smaller than the rest, Éclair came into the world at 7:45 P.M. weighing a scant 11.3 ounces.

March 29th, 2021 Long John has Arrived

At 6:30 sharp a puppy named Long John came into the world weighing 12.9 ounces and looking really nice. He is mostly black, but obviously a tri-color.

March 29th, 2021 Sugar is Here

Some times things start of a bit rough. Sugar came out, took one look, and turned right around. After ten minutes Taffee pushed her out far enough to get a hand on her back feet and pull her out. But Sugar came out at 5:10 looking pretty and weighing 12 ounces.

March 29th, 2021 Sprinkles Arrives

At 4:35 at very sleepy headed and stubborn little girl name Sprinkles cam into the world. She was a bit hard to get started and was immediately a bit on the stubborn side. She weighed in a nice 12.1 ounces.

March 29th, 2021 Fritter Arrives

At 4:01 a little boy Basset Hound screamed into the world weighing 12.7 ounces. We named him Fritter. When I say yelled, I mean he let loose a loud one the moment the sack came away from his nose. He is an active little guy.

March 29th, 2021 Dunkin Arrives

Taffee's first baby boy came into out world at 3:37 P.M.  weighing 13.8 ounces. He's a heavy one. He came out quiet and strong with a large appetite. His mother was so pleased to see him come and so are we. We had called for a Vet house call this evening. Needless to say it, we cancelled.

We're Getting Pretty Close

Laffee Taffee's temperature came down today. Dogs usually run just above one hundred degrees but this gets depressed as a female nears whelping. Taffee was at ninety-eight degrees this morning. Of course there is no guarantee that pups will show up at any point, but this temperature drop is what we are looking for and we are ready get this thing started.

We have been building the new Farmhouse for a little over a year now and it has come to the point where we can begin using some of the rooms. So we moved the washer and drier out of the tiny home and this opened up plenty of room for a litter of pups. After the new house is finished, and we are moved in, this room will become part of the new Kennel where grooming and whelping will happen routinely.

This is the same room we used with Taffee's last litter and had built a back porch onto the place to get some space. But the back porch really wasn't much help, so keeping them all in the one room will work better all the way around.  We padded the floor and put a new blue tarp down to help keep things a bit cleaner. A warm and clean place is really all we need right now.

We are ready.

March 7th, 2020 Good News!

Grizelda LaffeeTaffee (AKC) and ClarkeBar Grizwold (AKC) are please to announce the impending arrival of six to eight pups on or about April 1st. This was not a part of our kennel plan but we are happy to see it none-the-less. These two put out the best litter we have seen in the past and we are planning on keeping a male to strengthen our kennel. These pups will eventually be on offer for $1500.00 each. A non-refundable $500.00 reservation deposit, along with a digitally or actually signed contract, is required of anyone wanting to take a pup from this litter. We don't take deposits until the pups arrive, so there is time to plan and consider before taking this first step.

The Reservation is not for any particular puppy, but for a place in the order of choosing. Choosing a puppy happens after our Six Week Evaluations are put online. There will be ample pictures to look over as the puppies grow and we keep pretty good track of the babies as they grow to six weeks, so there will be enough information to make a choice at the six week point. We allow people to visit the pups after four weeks as well as allowing people to visit our farm prior to whelping. We expect delivery of this litter to their new homes starting in late May, but can keep them with us longer as needed. At deliver any contract balance is due.

We offer AKC Breeding rights for our pups for $300.00, in addition to the puppy price. We also offer delivery, for a fee, outside of the Portland Metro Area as well as air freight delivery outside of our personal delivery area arranged as needed. Lastly, should anyone wish two pups (of the same sex) there will be a $200.00 discount on each puppy. It is just better to have two, they will simply do much better, be happier, and give you a whole lot more fun. Since we will be having two litters Spring, this discount can be spread between both as required.

There is no hurry at this point, and no expense. We will begin taking reservations the day the pups arrive and only make reservations for the number of pups we hope to make available. I will be choosing one male to keep in our family and so the first choice will be mine.

As planned, we will still be breeding The Cinnamon Bear in April. So there will be two litters in Spring and early Summer. The Cinnamon Bear and ClarkeBar have given us two litters of very good pet quality puppies and this litter will be priced at $1200.00 each. The same deposit and contract will be required, and additional fees and discounts made available. We don't have dates for this pairing yet, but we will send another email when we have this information.

So, for now, make your plans and ask your questions. Come visit us if you wish and we will be glad to have you. Call Ann at 503-351-0212 whenever you wish.
