Chips Ahoy, for all of his good traits, is only a good pet quality Basset. His heavy frame, and well formed skull, are set on a short and stocky body length. He carries one blue eye, which is a serious flaw. He ought to turn out to be a robust fellow, much like his father. His wonderful coloring and wirey coat add to his nearly perfect loose skin, ear set, and ear size. His muzzle is built for seeking curiosities, his soulful eyes for loving. His stance might be good, but he hates to be posed.
Chips Ahoy gets three and a half points against the AKC standard, one half for beauty. He will make a fine family dog but should not be bred. Four points is all I can give him due to the eye color flaw.
